Condominium Penthouse Master Bedroom

Our client just moved into a new penthouse condominium within an urban area of Calgary. The suite boasts 11 foot ceilings and has a clean layout with southern exposure. The master bedroom directive was to create a serene escape that immediately transports one to a luxurious retreat.

Our first impression was that the light and height of ceiling elevated the mood immediately. We worked with this asset and began to layer the mood with a calming colour on a headboard which would be the central focus of the room. Not just any headboard, but one with the element of whimsey paired with a classic matelasse fabric that will add texture. The whimsey came through with the ornamental shape of the headboard, the sea green colour paired with contrast white velvet piping perimeter.

The elements of style easily followed with a Schumacher Chinoiserie style wallpaper in Duckegg and matching drapery. Dark wood traditional night tables contrasts beautifully with the bed to ground the space and a neoclassical style porcelain vase is gracefully hosting dogwood blossoms. Lighting is a simple small scale brass table lamp.

Crisp white custom embroidered linens in 1000 TC fine Giza Egyptian Cotton and a solid white cotton Matelasse coverlet complete the overall experience our client was wishing to achieve.
